I've actually had this topic on my mind a lot lately: planning outfits. I'm truly awful at planning outfits, which is one of the reasons why I don't post an outfit but once a week. (Plus, it takes time to take/edit/post photos!) I've especially had trouble as of late, because more than ever, my schedule is either jam-packed with school, church, lunches with friends or times with my husband that I don't ever plan my outfits, and sometimes I feel like the ones I do post aren't that great. (Hello, perfectionism!) It just seems so daunting to plan them out.
But, anyway, I'm answering the questions before I'm answering the questions, so on to them!
1. How do you determine what you will wear that day?
Right now, ermm....for the most part, what's clean. Embarrassing, but I'm being honest here. Then, as I look at the clean clothes
2. Do you plan outfits out in advance for a whole week, month, weekend?
No, this is something that I need to start doing, and I plan to start doing. I've been thinking about picking up one of these to help me with the process. I think I could do SO much more with my clothes if I just took the time, sat down, and planned things out. Sometimes I even get annoyed with myself because I find outfits that I like, and then I wear them over and over again, with little variation.
3. Do you have any specific way of tracking outfits and items already worn so you don't repeat?
I don't have any specific ways of tracking outfits and items, but even if I am wearing the same outfit, I always try to mix up the accessories: wear a different scarf, wear boots instead of flats, earrings instead of a necklace. I would be lost without accessories!
4. How do you discover new combinations of items in your closet? (Trial try-ons? Hanging items together?)
I've found new outfits tons of different ways! I've drawn inspiration from my fabulous fellow bloggers on how to make an older/simple piece look new, friends, and people I see around town, as well as just taking things out of my closet to see what looks good together.
5. To streamline the process for 2011 what is one new thing you can do to cut down your dressing time?
Again, I think that the only way to cut down on time is to really invest the time in planning the outfits, making sure the correct pieces are clean, and on Sunday, making sure that everything is good to go for the week. I really do feel a million times better when I know I look good.
What about you? How do you determine what you will wear?
Have a fantastic weekend, and I'll be back with an outfit post on Monday!

I don't think I would ever have the patience to plan my outfits. gosh, I didn't even know people did that! I do the same thing with my weekly menu though :) Have a good weekend!
Oh, and should I know what FBFF is?
I wrote that I have to chose from what is clean, too. No shame in that!
I don't see any shame in repeating outfits, either. We all do it! At least I hope we all do!

Katy-Thank you! I'm so glad you like it! I just go it redone, and I'm in love with it myself!
Mrs. Monica-I should probably start planning my menus too! And FBFF is a blogger community thingy where we post answers to fashion/beauty related questions every friday. It's a really active group! :)
